(You know)
It was during the pandemic,
Playing an original sound,
We had a code of conduct, cause,
Kids were up the world around.
Then we all got vaccinated, (right?)
Infection rates weren’t nearly so high
And I discovered quickly, (within a year)
In-person cons to which I could fly.
Chorus: |
And they were laughing and talking, And strumming to the drumming. And that’s when it hit me We’re not on camera now and we can Sing those those filthy songs at nighttime Sing those those filthy songs at night Sing those those filthy songs at nighttime Say words like “boogie” and other filthy lyrics ‘cause we’re live. |
(Are we live? Whoah, feeling live)
Now first I felt self conscious.
What if tender ears should hear?
Hotels have halls and corners.
Some jet-lagged toddler might be near.
But it started seeming normal.
A whole new different way to think.
No kids or cats or laundry.
A room of grownups all in sync.
(Chorus)
(Gonna play some non-digitized filthy music, yow!)
When I’m back in online circles.
I find I’m met with distant stares.
I never hear them laughing.
They’re nothing but a bunch of squares.
So I have some reservations.
I’ll book another room and flight.
Just to see if it’s so lively (all the time)
In places where it’s sometimes night.
(Chorus)
