Does it softly shine at noon, both its faces facing you?
Have you seen the mirrored sea, where the currents flow and ebb,
As you thread the tapestry of the World Wide Web?
Deep space! Cyberspace! Woven into one vast place.
Deep space! Cyberspace! Haunting as a half-seen face.
How will you capture the anarchy and rapture,
Surfing through deep space in cyberspace?
Deep space rises like a flare, lighting up the local skies.
Cyberspace links up to stare with a million unseen eyes.
Watching swirling waves of heat, in the rainbow west of red,
As the boundaries retreat, to reveal instead:
Will you watch the death of comets?
Will you watch the birth of stars?
Will you share the fleeting glimpse that probes the crushing deep?
Will you pierce the poison veil?
Will you ride the comet’s tail?
Will you chase the mysteries that haunt you in your sleep?
In the world that has evolved, there’s no longer dusk and dawn.
When an orbiter revolves, half a billion are logged on.
Is this ant hill in good health, when there’s nowhere left to hide?
’Til the speed of light itself can someday divide:
